PARKVIEW – Parktown High School for Girls has planned a day of fun for the whole family in celebration of the school’s 90th birthday this October.

Park Fest will take place at the school, and will feature activities such as a car boot sale, a foam party, food and drink, and musical entertainment.

Speaking on behalf of the school, Kelly McGillivray said, “The Field of Inflatables and Foam Party Fun will keep everyone lining up for more; from toddlers to teens. The less adventurous among us can browse the stalls, hunting for treasures at the car boot sale.”

She said the school would welcome more participants in the car boot sale.

“There will also be delicious and decadent distractions from the deli section, for the inner foodie in all of us, and we will also hold a pupil-based cupcake decorating competition,” said McGillivray.

The event will also feature entrepreneur crafting stalls, a traditional choir and dancers who will perform alongside the school’s first dance team, talent shows, a photo booth, dance exhibitions, a flash mob, and a performance by the Parktown Boys’ High School band.

Park Fest will take place on 12 October at the school, 55 Tyrone Avenue, Parkview, from 9am until 1pm.
