Thief arrested in possession of stolen items

FOREST TOWN – Police pounced on a man in an act of stealing at a Forest Town house in the wee hours of the morning.

Spokesperson of the Rosebank police station Sergeant Bongi Mdetshe said the incident took place while the house owner was away on a holiday.

Police said the security guards of 24/7 company who were on duty patrolling the area saw the man who took out some valuable household items like television from the house.

They then alerted the police about the incident. Mdetshe said the sector police responded speedily and drove to the scene where they apprehended the suspect.

The stolen goods were recovered outside the yard and a case of housebreaking and theft had been opened.

The suspect was detained at the station.
