Craighall Primary School hosts leadership workshop

Bokamoso Education Trust in Waverley in partnership with Orion Leadership Academy hosted a leadership workshop at Craighall Primary School for its beneficiaries.

Learners at Bokamoso Education Trust participated in a leadership workshop on July 8 at the Craighall Primary School. Operations manager Megan Downie said the workshop titled ‘Lead from Within’ focused on leadership, empowerment and unlocking what it takes to be an authentic, purposeful and courageous leader.

The workshop consisted of four powerful modules that encouraged a deep, critical and intentional analysis of the past, present and future and how best to navigate life’s challenges and opportunities to ensure a successful and meaningful future.

With great care and attention to detail, founder of Orion Leadership Academy Dr Kim du Preez meticulously crafted a workshop that encompassed a wide range of essential skills and attributes. From decision-making to resilience, strategic thinking and effective communication, every aspect was carefully integrated to provide a strong and effective foundation for true leadership development, Downie noted.

She said one of the most remarkable aspects of the workshop was its focus on unlocking the untapped potential within each individual. “Beneficiaries were carefully guided into introspective journeys of reflection and self-discovery, prompted to recognise their strengths, confront their limitations and cultivate the resilience necessary to overcome obstacles that keep them from reaching their full potential and being the best version of themselves.”

Downie said a lunch-time break included an exciting ‘Amazing Race’ event, where learners got to have fun while navigating new activities and challenges that encouraged them to work together and embrace the various obstacles of the race. This served as an analogy of the workshop, having to carefully work together, acknowledging one another’s strengths and weaknesses in order to complete successfully.
