Old Edwardian’s U13 soccer team walked away victorious

U13 Old Ed's coach, Thanyani Mashamba is happy with the 3–1 score, but wants his team to work on scoring more goals.

The U13 Old Edwardian’s soccer team came out tops on their home ground against Roshnee Football Club on June 18.

Old Ed’s U13 coach Thanyani Mashamba said he was happy about the 3–1 score.

“The boys had a shaky first half and did not play well, but as the game progressed they took control. We conceded a silly goal, which was in the box area and tried to pass the ball out, which is not how we usually play. If it is in the danger area, we kick the ball out, we can only play further upfield, which is when we do our passes.”

Roshnee Football Club’s coach congratulated Old Ed’s and added that although his team lost, they played with effort and determination.

Mashamba noted that his team still needed to work on scoring more goals because there were many opportunities for that to happen.
