Highlands Park U13 soccer team shines on home soil

Highlands Park U13 coach, Dean Workman aims to see growth and improvement in his team in every game this season.

Highlands Park U13 coach Dean Workman was left more than satisfied with his team’s 7–1 win against Wolves Football Club, in Linksfield on June 4.

The stands were filled with anxious cheers and screams as parents supported their sons in their respective teams.

Workman said his team had improved from their last game. “The team did not score the seven goals by luck, I do believe in setting our standards. While we did have a big victory today, our goal is to always see the boys grow and show improvement. They must never let scorelines dictate their attitude; the attitude must be consistent which is where the boys must get to.”

Wolves Football Club coach Zaheer Malek said his team was new to the super league.

“The score and performance has never been this bad this season, today was one of those off days where we could have done better. The opposition played well, it was a well-drilled team.”

Malek added that in as much as he could not say there was particularly something the team did wrong, their goalkeeper’s injury did not help their situation.
