Craighall Park residents weigh in on crime in their community

Residents are scared of Buckingham Street as there is a lot of theft.

The crime statistics of South Africa were released on May 30. Rosebank Killarney Gazette went to the street of Craighall to ask the residents if they feel safe and think the police are doing enough.

This is what they had to say:

Selina Moyana: I think the police are doing their job because I have never felt unsafe on the street. I could even walk around holding my phone in my hand.

Leoshaid Smith: No, I don’t think they’re doing enough. Some areas resort to having community forums and hiring patrollers to guard the community.
Bheki Ndlovu: No, I don’t think they are doing enough because I have never seen the police patrol in the community,. They only come if they called and also, they respond late.
