Mandela Day inspired St Teresa’s School Signs of Positivity initiative

The signs installed provide the consistency children need to help them gradually create a sense of self-worth, self-drive, empathy, work ethic, integrity and a positive outlook on life.

St Teresa’s School Senior Primary raised funds on Mandela Day which led to the Signs of Positivity project.

Senior primary’s principal, Lindsey Verster said the school was thrilled to engage in the project.

“In a world where negativity dominates the media and daily lives, it’s so important for our rosies to remain optimistic amidst the pressure of their daily lives. We encourage promoting positivity with our rosies so that a positive mindset can become integrated into their daily routine.”

Verster added that the senior primary learners raised money through the Mandela Day Jobs for Joy project in 2022, the money raised was used to fund various Mandela Day initiatives which included Signs of Positivity.

Signs of Positivity designer, Reg Pakari noted that they are a non-profit company that provides a cost-effective platform for organisations and businesses to make a worthwhile difference in communities from the ground up.

“The signs we install provide the consistency children need to help them gradually create a sense of self-worth, self-drive, empathy, work ethic, integrity, and a positive outlook on life. We are inspired by the hope that if we work hard enough, we can change many lives and our country for the better. National change is a long-term process and there is no better place to start than in the minds of our future adults and potential leaders.”
