Meet the reptile keeper at Joburg Zoo

Dlomo, the reptile keeper at Joburg Zoo, expresses his love for the reptiles he takes care of as he enters the crocodile enclosure with the African continent’s twelve dangerous Nile crocodiles.

He says that his love for reptiles began back in 2017 when he started working with them during his work-integrated learning program at the Pretoria Zoo.
“I enjoy working with these beautiful creatures because I find them interesting and unique, and some are also dangerous, and that stimulates my adrenaline and excites me the most,” Dlomo added.

He concluded that the zoo offers different types of reptiles, but his favourites are crocodiles and snakes.
