CHOC Cyclethon in Melrose Arch

In efforts to raise funds and show support for around 1 500children diagnosed annually with childhood cancer, CHOC hosted their annual cyclethon in Melrose Arch.

September is the month dedicated to highlighting the journeys of those battling childhood cancers.

It’s about hope for better treatment outcomes, and for a brighter and healthier future for young cancer patients.

The public is urged to be activists and supporters for those going through the childhood cancer journey and for those who have been newly diagnosed. There are many ways people can get involved this September, in order to make a difference in the lives of children and teenagers facing the battle for their lives.

The CHOC SA Cyclethon on September 18 at Melrose Arch was the perfect way for people to show their support to children and teenagers who are navigating the journey to overcoming cancer. The objective of the annual cycle thon was to raise funds for CHOC. For six hours, about 159 participants were sweating, dancing, singing and cycling side by side per hour.

Participants would be travelling a journey with around 1 500 children who are diagnosed annually to help them receive augmentative care in paediatric oncology units across the country. Through CHOC programmes, you can help patients and their families have a home away from home as well as, transport, and psychological and nutritional support.
