Attempted murder suspect appears in court

A 28-year-old man appeared in court to answer charges of attempted murder.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on July 25 for attempted murder in Parkview.

According to Parkview Police Station Commander Colonel Devan Govender and Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, the police received a complaint and, on their arrival at the scene of the crime, they found a 25-year-old victim being treated by the paramedics.

Sibeko explained that the victim attacked the suspect using a spade, however, the suspect disarmed the victim, climbed on top of him and stabbed the victim in his head, chest, and body.

“The victim was taken to hospital while the suspect was arrested for attempted murder.”

The suspect appeared before the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on July 27 to answer charges of attempted murder.

Colonel Devan Govender condemned the violent act and mentioned that the police will continue addressing the causes of crime, preventing all acts which may threaten the safety or security of any community.
