A world champion dance title and last stretch for netballers

PARKVIEW – The extracurricular activities included netball and dance.

Congratulations were extended to Parktown High School for Girls netball players who made it through to the third round of Gauteng Netball trials.
The school’s director of sport Catherine McCreesh on April 19 said the girls had done extremely well and ‘we wish them lots of luck for the last stretch’.

The following girls made it through:

  • U17 Section
    Daniella Monyepao.
    Emma Botha.
  • U16 Section
    Andisiwe Ndema.
  • U15 Section
    Akhona Nosenga.
    Entle Nyathi.
    Mushishikwe Mamphiswana.

Meanwhile, in the world of dance, Erin Hurly (Grade 9) and Leah Cornell (Grade 10) participated as part of the South African troupe in the 50th Irish Dancing World Championship held in Belfast, Northern Ireland, earlier in April. They did exceptionally well and became the first South African team to be crowned world champions. “Well done girls; we are incredibly proud of you and your team,” said McCreesh.
