Norwood SAPS arrest suspect for pointing a firearm at a victim

ORANGE GROVE – SAPS warns any member of the public not to take the law into their own hands, otherwise they will face the full might of the law and be prosecuted.

Norwood police arrested a man for pointing a firearm at a victim in Orange Grove.

A spokesperson for Norwood Police Station Sergeant Eric Masotsha said on February 20 at about 13:30, a perpetrator pointed a firearm at a victim.

On March 7 at about 07:50, hard-working detective Sergeant Hlakane Zacharia Tsholo arrested the suspect while he was still in bed.

Norwood SAPS congratulated the detective for working around the clock to trace and apprehend the suspect.

“The suspect will appear in court in due course for the pointing of the firearm,” said Masotsha.

The police warn any member of the public not to take the law into their own hands, otherwise, they will face the full might of the law and be prosecuted.

Masotsha encouraged community members to report crime to the Crime Stop number on 086 001 0111 or to the Norwood SAPS on 011 483 4609/13/14.
