Bramley Saps operation secures arrests

KEW – “Let us work together so that we can narrow the space for criminals to operate," said Bramley police spokesperson Captain Molefe Mogodi.

Bramley police conducted a successful operation to clamp down on crime in Sector 1 and other parts of the station’s precinct on February 15.

The spokesperson for the Bramley Police Station Captain Molefe Mogodi said that station members were assisted by the Johannesburg District to go after those who disregard the law.

“The operation included stop and search as well as tracing of wanted suspects by the detectives,” said Mogodi.

He said that at 23:00 on February 15, members received information about two people suspected to be dealing drugs in Kew.

“The members followed up on the information and managed to arrest the suspects for being in possession of a substance suspected to be crystal meth. The two men, aged 21 and 22 years, were detained at the Bramley Saps.”

In a separate incident, team members arrested a 42-year-old man for possession of Nyaope in Kew.

In Marlboro, the members were accompanied by a liquor officer to visit the informal settlement of Setswetla. “After visiting several places where liquor was sold, they found an adult male at a shebeen selling liquor without the shebeen’s permit.”
