We are no strangers to the delivery service in and around the Johannesburg area. Thrupps started in 1892 with deliveries by horse and carriage, delivering products that were imported and hard to find. The groceries were always delivered with a smile, and attention to detail was paramount, making sure that every customer received personalised service from the drivers.   This service has not changed, and we are still delivering to many long-time customers. What makes us unique is that our pickers, cashiers and drivers all know our customers’ specific requirements, and we always engage on a personal level with each customer. Our pickers call every customer directly, informing them of items on their shopping list we would need to substitute as well as informing our customers of special products or new products in-store. We are not online, so we converse with every customer directly, understanding their own unique needs. This gives our service a personalised touch, which we believe is a cut above the rest.   Our pensioners enjoy the phone call ordering service, as this allows them to phone in their order, and they do not need access to the internet or a computer. We also offer a 50% discount on the delivery fee on a Tuesday and a Wednesday if you are a pensioner, meaning you can get your groceries at an extremely reasonable delivery fee. If you can send through your grocery list by email before 12:00 weekdays and 10:00 weekends, we will have it ready for you and delivered on the same day.
