Two men arrested for possession of suspected stolen property

WESTCLIFF – The two suspects, aged 37 and 41, were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property.

Two suspects were arrested for possession of stolen property on January 19.

The spokesperson for the Parkview Police Station Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said on January 19 police were patrolling the area when they received a complaint on Jan Smuts Avenue, Westcliff.

“Upon arrival, they found a security officer with the owner of the house. The security officer explained to police that he found two men in the yard in possession of two bicycles. He then contacted the police,” said Sibeko.

“The two suspects failed to give a reasonable answer to police about the bicycles in their possession.”

The two suspects, aged 37 and 41, were arrested for possession of the suspected stolen property.

The men appeared in the Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court on January 20. The case was remanded until January 25 for further investigation.
