‘Peaceful protest’ ensues in Melrose area
MELROSE – Residents are advised to avoid area of Melrose around Melrose Street, towards Oxford Road, following news of a 'peaceful protest' in the area.
Residents and commuters have been advised to avoid the area along Melrose Street, Melrose, towards Oxford Road.
This, is due to what has been called a ‘peaceful protest’, down roads in this area.
Wayne Preston, chairperson of the Norwood Community Policing Forum (CPF) said that the SAP Public Order Police and Norwood SAPS were currently monitoring the situation and managing the group.
He said that around 60 people were protesting and that the protest was peaceful.
