Parkview Saps arrest three suspects for possession of stolen property

PARKVIEW – The three suspects will appear in the Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court on 13 May to answer to charges of theft and possession of suspected stolen property.

Parkview police together with CAP and ADT security apprehended three suspects for possession of stolen property.

Spokesperson for the Parkview Police Station Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said, “A 37-year-old man was apprehended in the early hours of 11 May when CAP security officers spotted a suspicious man and immediately contacted the police.

“During a preliminary investigation, it was discovered that the suspect matched the description of the suspect that had committed the theft of a security beam in Clovelly Road, Greenside, that occurred on 22 April.”

Sibeko said the suspect was also linked to more cases that had been reported in Parkview, Greenside and Emmarentia since January this year.

She added that a joint operation was established consisting of Parkview police members, CAP and ADT security members under the command of head of detectives at Parkview police Lieutenant Colonel Fatima Gaffoor.

The team followed information that led to the arrest of the two other suspects – a 40-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman – in Yeoville for possession of suspected stolen property.

“The three suspects will appear in the Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court on 13 May to answer to charges of theft and possession of suspected stolen property.”
