Bramley police pleased to see criminals brought to book

BRAMLEY – Bramley police station management applauded the detectives for the good work and thorough investigation that led to these convictions.

Bramley police were pleased to announce that seven men were convicted in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court for various crimes committed last year.

Joshua Matekwa, Bhekumuzi Moyo, Linden Nzuza and Xolani Ngwenya stood trial at the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court facing a charge of tampering with essential infrastructure after having been found digging a Telkom copper cable in Wynberg by the security officers. The four men, aged between 27 and 30, were sentenced to 10 years direct imprisonment.

In another crime incident, two men, Skhumbuzo Molapo (22) and Siyabonga Sithole (29) were convicted by the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court for robbing a victim of his cellular phone in Kew. The court sentenced both men to 15 years in jail.

The same court also sentenced Karabo Mathibela (25) to three years imprisonment for theft at business premises in Bramley North.

Bramley police station management applauded the detectives for the good work and thorough investigation.

Spokesperson for the Bramley police Captain Molefe Mogodi said, “The community is urged once more to provide the police with information regarding any crime or alleged crime.”
