DSJ hosts successful blood drive

PARKTOWN – 19 people from the DSJ community presented themselves to give blood and 16 were able to donate.

The Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg hosted a blood drive on their school premises recently collecting 16 units of blood.

Marketing manager at the school Savo Ceprnich said, “There is always a need for blood in South Africa, with Covid-19 this need has increased considerably.”

Ceprnich added that as part of the school community, the Parent Representative Council with the support of the school management felt it was vital to play their part.

Ceprnich said the drive had been held at the school once a term for a number of years. It is usually held in the school’s foyer, however, due to Covid-19, it had been moved to the parking area, which had proved to be a great success.
