Carrying each other through hard times

PARKVIEW – A local residents' association has taken the initiative to help its residents.

An initiative by the Parkview Residents Association is aimed at helping residents in and around their neighbourhood. Marketing and communication manager of the association, Caryl Kelly confirmed that this free-of-charge initiative aimed to cater for the residents in Parkview and Greenside East. “We are, however, very happy to assist friends on our borders,” she added.

The initiative is named the Parkview Community Assistance Group (CAG). In their shared poster, the group wrote, “If you are stuck at home and need any help or simply need someone to talk to, please feel free to let us know and we will get one of our CAG volunteers to contact you and lend a hand or listening ear.”

The CAG can help with the following list of needs:

  • Driving you to an appointment.
  • Collecting your medication.
  • Doing or picking up and delivering your shopping.
  • Sharing a cup of tea.
  • Lending a helping hand where needed.
  • Gardening.
  • Reading to you.
  • Simply popping by and having a chat if you are needing company.

Details: Residents can reach out to CAG by sending a WhatsApp message with their name and number to 083 268 4441.
