Residents can donate to shelters from the comfort and security of their home

PARKHURST – Cortac and South African Special Forces Association play their part to ensure residents can donate generously to shelters in need.

Cortac and the South African Special Forces Association will be collecting donations from residents for delivery to shelters catering for the needy during the lockdown period.

CEO of Cortac Mark Notelovitz said that the motivation behind this project was fuelled by a desire to use opportunities to support one another.

“Every individual, family, and company must use the opportunities they have to support one another and make this world a better place. We at Cortac are lucky enough to be in business and want to do something good for others,” said Notelovitz.

They will be collecting donations of crockery, cutlery, bedding, towels, clothing, shoes, toiletries, milk powder, eggs, cereals, pasta, rice, samp, mealie meal, tinned vegetables, tinned fish and cleaning materials.

The project will be operating in the areas covered by Cortac including Parkhurst, Parktown North and Houghton, which fall in the Rosebank Killarney Gazette distribution area.

Notelovitz explained that Cortac, which functions as an essential service in terms of transport and security, teamed up with South African Special Forces Association, who have permits to assist with welfare and care.

Collections will be dropped off at the non-profit organisation Let’s Work in Roosevelt Park, who will then distribute the goods to the City shelter in Windsor and various other NPOs who have requested support.

Cortac and SA Special Forces wish to thank residents for their generous donations so far.

Residents in Parkhurst and Parktown North are encouraged to contact Lynn Rushton at Safeparks on lynn@safeparks.joburg to arrange a pick-up. Houghton residents can contact Colin Wasserfall on Colin@lhra.joburg
