Johannesburg Flying Squad police arrest 9 suspects for various crimes

JOHANNESBURG – All suspects will appear soon in different courts.


Johannesburg Flying Squad police unit have arrested nine suspects in different areas of the city.

The unit’s spokesperson, senior personnel officer Raymond Sambo, said that the suspects will appear in different magistrates’ courts in Johannesburg to face different charges.

“Amongst the nine suspects arrested, four were arrested for possession of the stolen property, three others for possession of house-breaking implements and one was held for possession of a [hijacked] vehicle and another one for possession of a stolen vehicle.”

Sambo said during the arrests, which were conducted between 20 and 23 March, two vehicles were recovered. “The vehicles recovered is a silver VW Polo that was recovered stolen and a white Honda Jazz Benz that was reported hijacked.”

He concluded that investigations continue in all cases.
