Stacey Fru partners with Blind SA

HOUGHTON – The 12-year-old budding author Stacey Fru partnered with Blind SA to have her fourth book accessible to the blind community.


Young author Stacey Fru launched two of her books, Where is Tammy and Tim’s Answer on 6 September at the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund in Johannesburg and has partnered with Blind SA.

This is in an effort to make her books accessible to the blind community.

During the event, Christo de Klerk of Blind SA presented Tim’s Answer which has been transcribed into an accessible format known as Daisy which is text to speech audio and braille. The book in levels 1 and 2 of Braille were handed over to Stacey during the launch ceremony.

The book takes its reader through a journey of self-delivery with its core message intending to encourage African children to find role models in their immediate communities.

The excited author thanked the Blind SA team and said she was very grateful that another very important community could now access her work.

The Stacey Fru Foundation thanked Blind SA for the opportunity and called on the general public to extend the much-needed support that this organisation needed.
