Bramley police arrest a man for possession of stolen goods

BRAMLEY – The officers assumed the chairs had been stolen and arrested the 26-year-old man.


While patrolling Sector 2 in Bramley, police officers arrested a suspect for allegedly being in possession of stolen goods.

According to the head of communications at Bramley Police Station, Captain Molefe Mogodi, on the morning of 7 April, the officers noticed a man carrying chairs in Wynberg.

Mododi said the officers approached the suspect and enquired about the chairs. “It is alleged that the man could not explain where he got the chairs from or who they belonged to,” he said. The officers assumed the chairs had been stolen and arrested the 26-year-old man.

In another incident in Marlboro south, detectives arrested a 23-year-old man for pointing a firearm at another person. “It is alleged that the victim, the suspect and others were in Marlboro when an argument broke out among them. The suspect allegedly drew a gun and threatened to shoot the victim.

“The case was reported to the police and the detectives managed to trace and arrest the suspect. The community is warned not to threaten other people with firearms, even if the firearm is licensed.”

Also in Marlboro, officers arrested a man for allegedly damaging the tyres of a vehicle belonging to his neighbour. “The neighbour reported him to the police. He has since appeared in court.”
