SANDRINGHAM – Local community assists the police station in fighting crime.

The Sandringham Police Station commended the community of Lombardy West and Bramley View for their impressive work alongside police with two suspects apprehended by citizens and handed over to the police in February.

Spokesperson for the police station, Captain Mohlaumi Mamabolo said, “On 15 February the community of Bramley View apprehended a suspect when they noticed him walking in Van der Linde Street in possession of a Sansui Plasma TV and amplifier.”

Mamabolo added that the community members confronted him and wanted to know where he got the appliances. When he was unable to give an explanation for the goods, the police were called and the suspect confessed to having broken into a house and stolen the items.
