Sandringham Police Station welcomes new spokesperson

SANDRINGHAM – Sandringham Police Station's new spokesperson talks about unity in fighting crime.

Sandringham Police Station has appointed Captain Mohlaume Mamabolo as its new communications officer.

Mamabolo started his career at the Langlaagte Police Station in 1986 where he worked as a constable and was based there until 1992.

“I then moved to Lombardy East where I became a sergeant and then warrant officer, and stayed there until it was renamed Sandringham and continued to move within the ranks,” he said.

Mamabolo was then promoted to sector manager for Sector 2 in 2002 and was stationed there until he was promoted to his current post.

His work as a sector manager entailed working with the community patrollers and block watchers as well as attending community meetings to give feedback and updates to community members.

Speaking of his appointment, Mamabolo said it was an easy transition as he had much experience working with the community and thoroughly enjoyed it.

“I opted to apply for the post because I have much experience working with the community and even in this new post, I will continue working with the various sector managers and will still be available to the community at all times,” he said.

He added that he hoped to continue working with residents to decrease crime across the precinct and especially in problematic areas. Mamabolo concluded by urging the community to continue working hand-in-hand with the police to fight and reduce crime.
