Police nab one following break-in in Marlboro

MARLBORO – Suspect linked to business robbery set to appear in Alexandra Magistrates 'Court next week.

A suspect linked to an armed robbery at a business in Marlboro is once again set to make another appearance in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court on 9 September.

The alleged incident took place on 12 August at about 10.30pm after an employee was notified of the incident by a fellow worker. According to Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Bramley Police Station, the complainant then informed the police who went to the scene to investigate the matter.

“Upon arrival, the police found a number of people in the building and when they tried to accost them, the people ran away from the scene,” he said.

“In the ensuing chase, the police managed to nab one suspect who was then taken to the Bramley Police Station and charged for his alleged involvement in the incident.”

Maphakela confirmed that the accused was charged with business burglary and that the police were still investigating the matter.

The accused has since made an initial appearance in court where the matter was postponed for a bail hearing. The case continues.
