Parktown swimmers perform well at galas
PARKVIEW – Director of sport at Parktown Girls Catherine van Eyk congratulates the swimmers.
The Parktown Girls swimming team participated in a league gala hosted by Holy Rosary on 13 February, placing fourth against some tough opposition.
On 20 February, the team participated in the Night Gala hosted by St Stithians Girls College. The team placed third overall in this tough gala – the highest position the school has ever placed at this event.
Director of sport Catherine van Eyk said, “The team can be extremely proud of themselves. In preparation for the Inter-High Gala Swim at Ellis Park Swimming Pool Stadium, the 50m pool at Wits has been booked for training. This is done in order to do as much preparation as possible.
“Well done girls, keep up the hard work in preparation for inter-high.”
