Book lovers invited to browse Reea bookshop

CRAIGHALL PARK – Reea is a home for 39 residents suffering from epilepsy and associated illnesses between the ages of 18 and 70.

Book lovers are invited to explore the Reea Bookshop in Craighall Park and browse a wide range of pre-loved books in support of the Reea Foundation.

Reea is a home for 39 residents suffering from epilepsy and associated illnesses between the ages of 18 and 70.

Bookshop founder Judy Harding said the thriving store has been operational for 12 years and works to fund the work of Reea. The shop stocks over 20 000 books including collectables, children’s books, fiction and non-fiction books. “It is well-run and easy to navigate thanks to fantastic, helpful staff,” said Harding.

Books range in price from R15 to R60. The shop is situated conveniently in the tranquil neighbourhood of Craighall Park next to a nursery.

“We have 16 volunteers here and residents also assist to keep the shop functioning.”

Locals who want to donate their books can drop them off in a container outside the store from Monday to Saturday.

The shop is located at the corner of Richmond and Marlborough Avenue. It is open on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9.30am to 1pm and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.30am to 4pm.
