Roedean Academy learners of Barnato achieve good matric results

PARKTOWN – Regardless of their challenges, the learners of Barnato High School who attend The Roedean Academy managed to score 100 per cent in their matric.

Roedean School (SA) in Parktown spearheads a community programme, The Roedean Academy which focuses on providing English, mathematics, accounting and physical science lessons to high school learners of Barnato High School in Berea.

This is a donor-funded initiative and has been running successfully since its inception in 2009. In addition to the full academic programme, the girls are also exposed to many new opportunities and experiences.

“We are absolutely thrilled to announce that The Roedean Academy matric year of 2019 achieved a 100 per cent pass rate with every girl achieving a bachelor’s pass,” said the academy in a statement. “This is the first time in the history of The Roedean Academy that every girl has achieved a bachelor’s degree pass. This is a great testimony to the dedication of the teachers and the hard work and effort displayed by all the girls.”
