WATCH: St John’s Prep headmaster Patrick Lees takes his first leap from an aeroplane

HOUGHTON – St John's Prep headmaster Patrick Lees finds exciting ways to grab learners' attention through his year-end speeches.

Headmaster at St John’s Prep Patrick Lees has been finding exciting ways to deliver his year-end message to the boys at a prize-giving for the last 10 years.

Lees always promises the boys that he will grab their attention and not keep them a minute longer than necessary at the end of a long year.

He has kept his promise over the years with dazzling speeches about ‘Being your own superhero’ before surprising his audience with a quick change into a Superman outfit, and spoken about responsibility and the feeling that comes with being responsible, followed by a flash mob of staff performing Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Stop This Feeling.

This year’s message did not disappoint with Lees telling the boys that they should not let their fears define them or stop them from becoming whatever they want to be as he faced his own fears and took his first leap from an aeroplane.

“There are endless possibilities once we step outside our fear,” said Lees.

He had the boys jumping up and down in their seats with excitement and cheering out loud as they watch him free fall.
