Pridwin and St Vincent Schools cement their relationship

MELROSE – The neighbouring schools share sports facilities and an auditorium and arrange regular interactions between learners.

Pridwin Preparatory Grade 0 and 1 boys welcomed learners from St Vincent School for the Deaf for a picnic on 25 November.

Marketing manager at Pridwin Prep Demi-Rae Le Roux said, “The boys were so excited to bring in some treats to share with our friends as well as hand over a present to each one of our special guests. The boys had a fun morning making new friends, playing and eating delicious treats.”

Pridwin has developed a strong relationship with its neighbouring school St Vincent, with the two school sharing sports facilities and an auditorium on what is called the Joint Campus.

Le Roux said that opportunities for learners at both schools to interact are exploited as much as possible, with St Vincent teaching sign language to the Pridwin boys, sports matches being played between the two schools and staff collaborating on celebrations.

The Pridwin community supports St Vincent through a number of initiatives. The Pridwin Prep Grade 0s regularly invite the St Vincent Grade 0s to join them for picnics, further cementing the relationship between the two schools.
