Three guilty suspects to serve their sentences

ROSEBANK – The Rosebank police made strides as they managed to propel the arrest and later convictions of suspects from Forest Town and Rosebank.

Rosebank detectives’ hard work paid off as two suspects were arrested for housebreaking and theft in Forest Town. According to Rosebank Police Station spokesperson Sergeant Bongi Mdletshe, the station managed to obtain a befitting conviction as both suspects were sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment each and both were declared unfit to possess firearms.

A suspect was arrested for shoplifting at Rosebank Mall. According to Rosebank police spokesperson Sergeant Bongi Mdletshe, the suspect was found guilty in court and sentenced to three months’ imprisonment or a fine of R1 500. Mdletshe added that the suspect was also given a suspended sentence for five years meaning if he was found committing the same crime within a space of five years he would be locked up.

“As the year ends, this is part of the achievements by the Rosebank Police Station to show that if one is arrested there is definitely a conviction that follows. We still appeal to the public that if anyone has information, be it the drug-dealing crime at the Keyes Park or any other crime, please contact us anonymously,” said Mdletshe.
