Parktown Girls return home with medals after International Science Fair

PARKVIEW – Parktown Girls returned home from the International Science Fair bearing gold, silver and bronze medals.

 


Parktown High School for Girls congratulates their learners who performed well in the International Science Fair hosted at the Birchwood Hotel and Conference Centre recently.

A gold medal was awarded to Veeddeya Dheda. Silver medals were awarded to Relive Nkole, Aaliyah Cassim and Micaela Smith. Bronze medals were awarded to Amahle Mhlongo, Katleho Ntlhakana and Oratilwe Tladi. Aaliyah Cassim also received a special award of R200 000 from a science and innovation foundation to further develop her expo project entitled ‘Tyre revolution’ in which she used old tyres to make flooring material.

The Parktown Girls advanced marimba band was selected to perform at the International Science Fair awards ceremony. Their energetic and professional performance astounded the audience for which the school is still receiving compliments.
