Pridwin Preparatory School invites the local community to join their annual Knight Run on 14 September in support of the Baragwanath Paediatric Burns Unit.
Their event last year managed to raise R50 000 for the cause.
Marketing manager at the school Demi-Rae Le Roux said, “The Baragwanath Burns Unit admits approximately 400 children annually. Almost 25 per cent of the children require intensive care and the majority of burn injuries occur as a result of accidents. Infection is frequently a life-threatening complication of which small children are particularly susceptible.
“As with many departments in Baragwanath Hospital, there are shortages.”
Le Roux added that additional donations to the cause are welcome.
The run offers a 2.5km and 5km option and promises to be bigger and brighter than ever before with colour bursts along the route.
Community members are welcome to come for the run and stay for some fun. Drinks and food stalls will be available after the race.
Entries cost R100 and can be purchased through Quicket on https://qkt.io/ZpCt8S
The run will begin at 4.30pm and community members are encouraged to meet at the school’s parking lot from 4pm.
