Man arrested for assault

PARKVIEW – Parkview police were on the trail of the perpetrator the day after the crime was reported.

 


Following reports of assault, Parkview Police Station members made an arrest of the perpetrator the very next day.

According to spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, on 5 June, the victim went to Parkview SAPS to report a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

“The victim alleged that the suspect accused him of stealing his cell phone and he stabbed him with a knife on his right hand and stomach. The following day, on 6 June, the docket was allocated to the Parkview police detectives for investigation,” Sibeko explained.

On that same day, a 27-year-old man was arrested by the investigating officer at Zoo Lake before midday for assault with the intent to cause bodily harm.

Sibeko said the suspect would appear at Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court.

“The station commander of Parkview SAPS, Colonel Theledi Gopane, would like to commend the investigating officials for their commitment to executing their duties. He further states that Parkview SAPS will continue to serve and protect the community.”
