Come attend the reconstituted Greenside Residents Association AGM

GREENSIDE – For an opportunity to actively contribute towards the well-being of their community, Greenside residents are encouraged to attend the upcoming AGM.

Residents are invited to attend the annual general meeting of the reconstituted Greenside Residents Association.

The meeting will take place on 2 April at Greenside High School, Geers Avenue at 6.15pm for 7 pm.

Residents will have the opportunity to share concerns, brainstorm ideas and discuss future plans for the suburb. It is also a forum to formally vote to elect the association’s committee.

“We will have a neighbourhood ‘meet and greet’ from 6.15pm in the courtyard with refreshments and coffees sponsored by generous local businesses including Doppio Zero, Vida Caffe from Sunny Shell Motors, Wimpy Emmarentia and Greenside Pharmacy amongst others,” said Judith Ancer, the association’s chairman.

The following will be discussed at the meeting;

  • Significant upgrades planned for the Greenway and Gleneagles intersections and pavements
  • The polyphagous shot-hole-borer and the community’s trees
  • Community security initiatives such as community patrollers
  • How the City’s plans to introduce paid parking in Greenside will affect you
  • How you can comply with heritage requirements when renovating your Greenside home
  • Advice on how to log issues and when to escalate service delivery issues.

Special guests are Julian Ortlepp of Tree Works and Jufa (Johannesburg Urban Forest Alliance), and Ward 87 councillor Bridget Steer.

Residents are urged to pay their association annual subs as only paid-up members can stand for the committee and vote on various issues. Payments will also be taken at the meeting.
