UNA SEERY: It has affected me because when I try to work the power shuts down and I can't make use of the computer. Meetings then have to be cancelled which also affects productivity.

With the recent load-shedding seemingly the order of the day in the country, Rosebank Killarney Gazette asked residents how the lack of power had affected them. These were their responses …

CHUMILE SALI: It is affecting us negatively and it shouldn’t be this way because we are in summer when we don’t use that much electricity. With better management at Eskom this would have been prevented.

 

XOLILE NOTYWALA: There’s a crisis at Eskom. Being in darkness for a few hours is nothing compared to the permanent ‘load-shedding’ in some poor communities.

 

FAKAZANI MGWABA: I run a food business selling perishables so this load-shedding threatens my livelihood.
