CRAIGHALL PARK – City Parks cuts down dead trees infected by shot-hole-borer beetles in Craighall Park.
Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo (JPCZ) have removed 40 trees affected by shot-hole borers in Craighall Park.
This follows an open day discussion on 8 March that tackled the impact of the shot-hole borer. The cutting of trees begun at Richmond and Buckingham avenues in Craighall.

MMC for Community Development, councillor Nonhlanhla Sifumba was also joined by local ward councillors during the process.

Ward 90 councillor Martin Williams said he was pleased by City Parks’ decision to finally remove the infected trees in his ward.

A wood chipper cuts the wood into tiny pieces and transfers it into the truck which will be moved into Brixton Cemetry where the wood will be solarised.
