Joburg City Parks and Zoo take walk to examine the shot-hole-borer infestation

PARKVIEW – Joburg City Parks and Zoo admits many trees in Craighall have reached their lifespan and the shot-hole-borer is slightly speeding up the process.


 Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo hosted a site visit from Zoo Lake to Rosebank to examine the shot-hole-borer crisis. 

Residents have asked Joburg City Parks and Zoo for help and to find a plan to handle the problem, as trees affected by the polyphagous shot-hole-borer (PSHB) outbreak continue to deteriorate.

MMC for Community Development in the City of Johannesburg, Nonhlanhla Sifumba, organised the walk after several meetings with residents.
