SAXONWOLD – Gauteng police are pleased with successful arrest of four suspects.

Gauteng police were involved in the arrest of four suspects involved in the robbery and attempted kidnapping of a woman at the corner of Oxford and Griswold Road in Saxonwold on 19 January at 10pm.

Gauteng police spokesperson Kay Makhubela said that police who were patrolling in the area found the vehicle that was involved in the incident.

“When police tried to stop the vehicle with four males who were involved in the robbery, a shoot-out ensued… Three suspects were shot, injured and taken to hospital under police guard. The fourth suspect has been detained in the police cells,” said Makhubela.

Police recovered a cell phone robbed from the victim and a toy gun during the arrest. The suspects were aged between 25 and 36.
