Immaculata shelter closed for maintenance

ROSEBANK – The shelter needs to close for needed maintenance.

In order to allay concerns from community members, chairperson of the Rosebank Homeless Association Judith Briggs said the Immaculata Shelter is closing until around 12 January for repairs and maintenance work to be completed.

The shelter was closed for some time in December but there were a few concerns raised by community members.

“We do this every year and people were notified far in advance… A large number of people do go home while others make a plan over this period,” said Briggs.

She added that all of the shelter’s users are aware of this and if need be alternative arrangements have been made.
