Pridwin Preparatory School invites the community to join them in supporting the Baragwanath Paediatric Burns Unit through their annual Pridwin Knight Run.
The 5km or 2.5km event starts at 5pm from the school on 15 September.
Deputy head of Pridwin Eswee Prinsloo said, “The Pridwin Knight Run was first held in 2011 and this 5km fun run has since grown into a wonderful Saturday afternoon community event. The sole purpose was and is to raise money for the Baragwanath Burns Unit in Soweto under the leadership of Dr Dave Kloeck.
“What a humbling experience it has been to witness the Pridwin community rallying behind this wonderful cause to raise much-needed funds to meet the needs of others. May this event keep on going from strength to strength,” added Prinsloo.
Last year’s event assisted the unit to refurbish their doctor’s rooms.
A statement from the unit read, “Pridwin has been phenomenal in their support. It has made such a huge difference to the doctors and every day they extend their thanks to Pridwin.”
