Great vibes at Constitution Hill with marimba band performance

PARKTOWN – Parktown Girls' High marimba band causes a positive stir with their performance at Constitution Hill.

The Parktown Girls’ High School marimba band wowed the crowd with their Human Rights Day performance at Constitution Hill to commemorate a historical day in South Africa.

The captain of the advanced marimba girls, Chisanga Chama, said performing at the highest court in South Africa was a privilege for her team.

“Me and my teammates portrayed an unimaginable sense of unity, which was topped with an overall liveliness. I am very positive that everyone enjoyed it,” said Chisanga.

The crowd included schoolchildren and the festival attendees and were engaged with stalls information and debates about human rights.

“We really enjoyed the attention and the audience participation from primary and high school festival-goers,” said the band’s captain.

The 18 girls practise hard for external performances and always pull off the art of delivering profound marimba performances.
