The search for Ross Govender, who went missing in Illovo on 19 January, has ended tragically.

Govender’s sister Kerry Thomson Bodenstein confirmed in a Facebook post that he had tragically died in a car accident on the evening he was last seen.

A missing person’s case was opened in the hopes that Govender would be found safe.

“It is with a very heavy heart that I have to let you all know that today we discovered that my beloved brother Ross was involved in a car accident last Friday which he tragically did not survive,” said Thomson Bodenstein.

“I would like to thank everyone who shared our posters looking for him, who sent their best wishes, and who, like us, was hoping for a much happier outcome. Life can be short and is very precious. Tell people that you love them and don’t sweat the small stuff. We will never forget you, Ross,” she concluded.
