St John’s College obtains over 90 per cent pass rate for A and AS Level exams

HOUGHTON – Twenty-one youngsters completed their A- and AS-levels and achieved fantastic results

St John’s College celebrates incredible results for students who wrote their A Level and AS Level exams in November last year.

The subject pass rate of the students who wrote the A Level examinations was 97 per cent. Overall, 82 per cent of students achieved A*, which is the highest grade available in the A level, to C symbols across all subjects. Eleven per cent of the symbols obtained was over 90 per cent in one or more of the A Level subjects. Additionally, 35 per cent of the results were over 80 per cent in one or more subjects.

The A Level Cambridge International Examinations are recognised at universities around the world.

  • Jet Mc Gown-Withers obtained an average of 89 per cent
  • Toni-Ann Black obtained an average of 88 per cent
  • Tatiana Remy obtained an average of 88 per cent
  • Stephanus van Niekerk obtained an average of 88 per cent
  • Jesse Badham obtained an average of 87 per cent
  • Megan Peté obtained an average of 87 per cent
  • Erica Schnaar-Campbell obtained an average of 87 per cent
  • Naledi April obtained an average of 85 per cent
  • Jiaping Fang obtained an average of 85 per cent
  • Alexander Downey obtained an average of 84 per cent
  • Harry Stanley obtained an average of 82 per cent

Kate Byrne, the head of Sixth Form said, “We are also delighted to share the success of our AS Level students. The subject pass rate of the students who wrote the AS Level examinations was 96 per cent. Overall 69 per cent of students achieved A to C symbols across all subjects.

 

“We are hugely proud of the Sixth Form class of 2017 and look forward to similar success from the Sixth Formers of 2018.”

  • Courtney Davis obtained an average of 82 per cent
Christopher Lavers was the top achieving A-level schoolboy with an 89 per cent average.
