#ICYMI: Pink Drive staff treated to luxurious morning in Craighall Park

CRAIGHALL PARK – Pink Drive staff were treated to a breakfast at Cnr Cafe and beauty treatments at Karo Hair

Staff from Pink Drive were treated to a luxurious morning by Karo Hair and Cnr Café in Craighall Park to thank them for all their hard work.

Pink Drive provides portable mammography and educational units to disadvantaged areas to enable the early detection of breast cancer in women. The mobile units provide diagnostic mammography screening, education and physical examinations, and also teach women how to do breast self-examinations.

Noni Phatsa, Noxi Lubisi, Thuli Mpanza and Rendani Ramufi from Pink Drive are treated to a morning of pampering.

Chantal van Wyk, the owner of Karo Hair, said that her sister, who recently received treatment for breast cancer, was the inspiration behind treating the Pink Drive team to a wonderful morning.

Van Wyk said it was a wonderful experience to get to know the staff at Pink Drive and they hope to carry on celebrating their work in the future.

Jessica Pierce, the marketing manager and salon coordinator for Karo Hair said, “Cnr Café sponsored the breakfast for everyone and next door at our Salon we are going to be giving Indian head massages, blow-drys and cuts for all the staff, so it will be really nice to give them something extra.”

Some lucky ladies also won beauty products sponsored by Kevin Tabilo from Kevin Murphy Hair Products.

The marketing manager for the Pink Drive, Febe Meyer, highlighted the importance of being a positive influence in communities and emphasising the importance of early detection. “Our staff work within communities on a daily basis and it’s so nice for someone to recognise the work we do and to say thank you to our staff for what they’re doing.”

Febe Meyer, Marcus Otitangongo, Jessica Pierce and Chantal van Wyk celebrate the Pink Drive staff and all their hard work.
Kevin Tabilo from Kevin Murphy and Chantal van Wyk, the owner of Karo Hair, spent the morning treating staff from Pink Drive.

Meyer added that all the staff had been so excited about their morning of pampering. “It’s a nice way to end off our year so that the staff know that they are appreciated for what they do in their communities.

“At the end of the day we are a community and we need to support one another. Life can be really hard, so to be able to give back something is a beautiful thing,” said Pierce.
