NOTE: Standard Bank’s planned evacuation drill to go ahead today

ROSEBANK – Cradock Avenue between Bolton Road and Baker Street and Baker Street between Bath and Cradock avenues will be closed off for the duration of the evacuation.

A planned evacuation [drill] by Standard Bank employees is due to take place from 9.15am on 10 November.  The evacuation, which will be conducted by Standard Bank, will take place at 30 Baker Street from 9.15am to 11am. 

To ensure that Standard Bank complies with regulatory requirements, Cradock Avenue, between Bolton Road and Baker Street and between Bath and Cradock avenues will be closed off for the duration of the evacuation.

“Standard Bank would like to apologise to residents and commuters who may experience some traffic disruption in and around Cradock Avenue and Baker Street.

“We have implemented a number of measures to ensure minimum disruption including having relevant emergency services on site to assist,” said Hayley Crane who handles the external communication for corporate and investment banking at Standard Bank.

This includes emergency services and the Metro police, who will both be in attendance for the duration of the planned evacuation and will assist in directing traffic and ensuring the safety of the drill.
