St. Teresa’s in Rosebank celebrates their own at awards ceremony

ROSEBANK – Grade 12 students who have achieved awards throughout the year were celebrated for their achievements.

 

The St. Teresa’s School community enjoyed their first cultural and sports celebration on 3 October.

The purpose of the event was to acknowledge the contribution of all the Grade 12s who regularly participate in co-curricular activities, share their experiences of the matric committees and listen to the wisdom and advice of the guest speaker, Leanne Manas.

Leanne Manas, the guest speaker for the evening, and Savannah Taitz from Grade 12 who achieved awards for both a sports and cultural activity.

The respective chairpersons for each committee, including Kiara Peter and Arabella Ingham for the arts and culture committee and Brittany Hewitt for the sports committee ably assisted by her captains, provided a summary of their year as leaders.

The range of activities and multiple successes experienced by the youngsters during the course of the year was an indication of the considerable commitment and dedication of the vast majority of the school body.

Manas encouraged the girls to use their school years to explore all the activities available to them as one can always discover new talents and interests. She also encouraged them to appreciate the journey on the way to achieving their goals in order to prepare themselves for an interesting and active adulthood.

Manas also stressed that being engaged in a variety of activities ensures that the girls become interesting people, with the added benefit of being able to discuss a variety of topics in a variety of settings.

Sabrina Benvenuti, Faye Falconer-Pincus and Kiara Peter receive awards for their participation in school activities.

The Grade 12s who have achieved an award at any level, in either a cultural or sports activity throughout high school, were recognised with a certificate of acknowledgement.

The six girls who achieved an award in both a cultural and sports activity throughout high school also received a voucher for a treat at Sorbet. They were Sabrina Benvenuti, Melissa Bethke, Mia Dancey, Faye Falconer-Pincus, Amber Isabelle and Kiara Peter.
