R100 000 reward in murder investigation

ALEXANDRA – Police offer R100 000 reward for unsolved taxi driver's murder.

Alex police are offering a R100 000 reward for information that will help them crack a suspected murder case of a maxi taxi driver whose decomposing body was found last year at his Tsutsumani home.

Police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said the victim, Lawrence Marantshana Kgabane (pictured) then 40 years old, was discovered in his rented room on Lebogang Street, Tsutsumani on 3 March 2016 by his landlord.

Kodisang said while police investigation revealed no forced entry, no sign of robbery or tampering in his room, post-mortem results ruled the death as unnatural. The deceased operated from Sandton and would be known by commuters and others in the transport industry in various parts of the city.

Anyone with information that would aid the investigation is asked to contact Detective Constable Mhlongo on 082 345 1141 or Detective Sergeant Mbonambi on 082 436 5529.
